Trailborn Surf & Sound reimagines an iconic 60-year-old beach resort, the Blockade Runner. Guests will find comprehensive upgrades to the lobby, meeting spaces and common areas, fully redesigned and renovated guestrooms, and brand new indoor and outdoor dining options. All of the magic of this historic beachside destination will remain and be celebrated — guests can relax in the new pool area, take surf lessons, sail, kayak, paddleboard, or island hop — it’s a sun-soaked, revitalized beach resort, opening in 2025.

Trailborn Surf & Sound is the ultimate beachside escape. The hotel’s home in Wrightsville Beach offers Atlantic and Intracoastal Waterway access, water views from every newly renovated room, and endless adventure. You can lounge at the pool, surf, sail, and kayak in the Atlantic, or paddle board and fish on the sound. The renovations to the Blockade Runner will begin in September 2024 and are scheduled to be completed in early 2025.

Will the hotel remain open during renovations?

Yes, the hotel will remain open during renovations although some services and amenities may not be available. Please reach out to our Reservations team at 866-477-1442 regarding specific information for your dates.

What areas of the hotel will be affected by the renovation?

The resort will undergo comprehensive upgrades to the lobby and common areas, guestrooms and bathrooms, indoor and outdoor dining options, meeting and event spaces, and experiential offerings.

Who can I talk to about making a new reservation or modifying an existing reservation?
